As you can see, my Halloween owl face doesn’t really look like an owl. Pretty much a Pintrest fail, only I’ve never been on Pintrest, so there’s that.
My friend JJ did the initial makeup and then I went in and messed with Photoshop. Not really skilled in Photoshop. OWL well.
All this for my little granddaughter, Adelaide, who lives in the forest. Really, she has owls in her backyard and owls in her front yard and owls in her heart. She sleeps on owl sheets, lights her room with an owl lamp, and she carries an owl backpack to preschool. Her love for owls coupled with my love for her…woke me up the other night with the idea, “What if I paint my face like an owl for Adelaide?”
Pablo Picasso said, “What one does is what counts. Not what one had the intention of doing.”
My intention was to show Adelaide that I love her. What I ended up doing was scaring the crap out of her. That’s just a side benefit. I adore scaring my grandchildren at Halloween.
Maybe because I never got to have a childhood? Probably because I’m truly demented. No matter. It’s fun. And at this point in my life if something is fun I’m OWL over it!
